This initiative sounds like a great step towards empowering local communities and giving them more control over assets that matter to them. It’s refreshing to see a focus on grassroots involvement and decision-making. I’m curious, though, how this process will ensure transparency and fairness in selecting which groups get support. Will there be clear criteria or opportunities for public input? Also, how will the success of these projects be measured? It’s important that these efforts lead to tangible improvements and not just bureaucratic processes. What role will local councils play in this, and how can residents ensure their voices are heard? I’d love to hear more about specific examples or success stories from this program so far.
We have integrated libersave into our regional voucher system. It’s fantastic how it simplifies pooling various providers on one platform. Whith regards, MONEY
Thank you for your interest in the Community Asset Transfer process. There is an ‘Expression of Interest’ form, so any community organisation is able to submit their interest in an asset. Following this, all EoI’s are reviewed by a panel to confirm that they meet the criteria to be shortlisted. All shortlisted organisations are interviewed by a cross directorate panel to ensure a fair process. Once the successful organisation is in place, continuing conversations take place between them and BCC to ensure that the building continues to provide relevant services for the community and assets are well maintained.
